CARE offers a variety of presentations on topics of sexual violence prevention and education. Presentations and programs are available and intended for groups of UNL students (clubs, RSOs, classes), faculty and staff. Please complete the request form to get something set up for your group.

Don't cancel class! Need to be away from campus during your regularly scheduled class time or just wish to add a guest speaker to your syllabus? As an alternative to cancelling your class, CARE staff would be excited to engage with the audience that is your classroom to facilitate any of the following presentations.

Presentations

CARE 101 (30 minutes)

Learn about the range of services available at CARE, a brief look at the prevalence of interpersonal violence among college students, and how CARE is working to cause positive change on campus.

 
Sexual Assault and Relationship Violence (SARV) Prevention (90 minutes)

This in-person, peer-led workshop facilitated by trained undergraduate Huskers CARE Peer Educators is required for all first-year Huskers. These workshops aim to raise awareness, provide resources, and empower students to prevent sexual and relationship violence, fostering a shared responsibility for creating a safe community.

 

Big Red Bystander Intervention (90 minutes)

Learn HOW to intervene in situations of sexual & dating violence, harassment, stalking, and identity-based crimes AND how to identify red flags that may signal intervention is needed! This workshop is lead by trained undergraduate Huskers CARE Peer Educators and CARE staff. 

 

Conversations About Consent (60 minutes)

This workshop will help attendees define consent, garner skills to communicate and withdraw consent, gain self-efficacy in safely navigating sexual consent, and learn how to expand conversations about relationship boundaries.

 

Responding to Disclosures (60 minutes)

Attendees will learn from an Advocate about how to provide a trauma-informed response to disclosures of interpersonal trauma, particularly sexual and gender-based violence, and frame recovery via a resilience-focused lens.

Pop Culture Trivia

Invite CARE to host a game of trivia based on examples from popular TV shows, movies, music, and news stories that relate to relationship violence in media.

 

Bad Relationship Music Bingo

Invite CARE to host a game of educational & fun bingo! We’ll explore positive and toxic relationships, and everything in between, through hit songs of the 90s, 2000s, and today. Through a dynamic selection of songs, we'll navigate themes of healthy relationships, red flags, and even abuse. Get ready to groove, reflect, and discuss as we explore the multifaceted world of relationships through the lens of popular music.
