Frequently Asked Questions
What should I bring to my workshop?

Your NU ID, a water bottle, a smart device (phone/tablet) with your UNL Event Pass. Your attendance will be recorded through the event pass.

Is this workshop required?

Yes. All first-year students are required to complete a SARV Prevention workshop in accordance with University of Nebraska’s Sexual Misconduct Training Standards. This workshop plays an important role in educating students about resources and their role in prevention.

However, if you feel this program will be a detriment to your emotional health and well-being due to a personal history of sexual or intimate partner violence, please request an accommodation.

I completed the online training; do I need to attend a SARV workshop?

Yes. While we value the time you took to complete the online training, this workshop will give all UNL students a consistent knowledge base about sexual assault and relationship violence dynamics unique to the college experience, resources of where to receive support at UNL, and skills to safely intervene.

What are the dates and times of SARV?

First-year students will be assigned to sessions based on their living communities. SARV for first-year students who live on campus will be happening in the Residence Halls starting August 27.

The date, time, and location of your workshop are listed above, as well as posted on your floor in your residence hall.

First-year students who live off-campus should register for an open session.

I'm a survivor and am worried about going to this workshop.

Your safety and well-being are our priority. If you are concerned that the workshop might be a harmful experience, you may request an accommodation.

I missed my workshop. What should I do?

Register for an offered open session. If workshops have concluded for the fall semester, you must register for a workshop in the spring semester.

How do I become a peer educator?

CARE hires new peer educators every spring semester to begin work for the following fall semester. Learn more here.
